Tomorrow

Tomorrow is an anxious day for students, teachers, fathers and mothers.
Tomorrow is the day for everyone to pack their bags and pull up their socks.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a new chapter to many...some to kindergarten others to Standard One and yet others to Form One, Form 4 and Pre U.
Tomorrow new hopes arise for parents as they look forward to a fruitful year in school for their children.

Every year parents wait with their children during orientation for the Form Ones and place great hopes on the school to nurture their loved ones into beings of commendable character and carving a career path for them. In reality, it is indeed a big challenge for every school to mould and create proteges labelled good and oustanding. But, the challenge has to be taken.

When in the first months, these children look innocent, obedient and law- abiding. It is a great pleasure to meet them and better still when they greet you politely . But how long do they stay this way? A teacher commented that if only they would stay 'right' and remain eager to please.

See, they are so cute. At this age, girls normally seem to be more matured and at times taller. But boys grow faster later and very soon they will look bigger and stronger than the fairer sex.

So this year the enrolment is bursting the seams of the school...overpopulated. And yet, it is ours to serve and nurture. Hopefully the big classrooms will not bring too much discomfort .

Incidentally, overlooking from a high rise building last week, I spotted something that caught my eyes. Make-believe classrooms in special cabins ! Well, that's a solution to insufficient classrooms. Cool ... I am sure it is air-conditioned and will be a good substitute for the normal set up. Most schools are finding solutions to whatever challenges that come along the way and pray that they would be problem-free soon !
Yes , we are pulling up our socks to greet tomorrow...it will be a long and tiring day.
