New Stars ; Old Stars

Oh what a day ...

Dear God, please don't let the rain fall; give us a good day we pray.

Yes it's the 16th annual sports day. Amirul and Eugenia are the captains of the day !

Yellow House, Red House., Purple House...on the march we go.

The best uniform group ; the Scout movement.

That's self defence; the Silat group.

Taekwondo says we are just as good...

But the band of the school has a new set of uniform to show off...

Yes...go, go, go.

The lovely cheerleaders cheered us up; the anticipating crowd roared at their entrance. Now I am beginning to suspect that they are here for them; not the sports...

That's our old star; now the cheer coach of the school. He is an example to emulate. Sensible and focus in his perception of matters in life. When I need to read the minds of youths, I ask for his help at times. What? Why? He gives me new insight.

Look at another old star. Why is everyone back today? She's known to the public as Megan; I call her You Mei.

For old times' sake; Megan on my left and Andrea on my right...what do you think they are up to?

Have you not be eating? Turning anorexic... But teacher; I am not.

This young lass of Sara's batch is working hard for 8 TV; she's here for a sports production. Her Alma mater is of course her first choice ! The show will be screened at midnight on a date to be set !

What a great show...you think they ran for them? Pose only.

Oh; here's another old star; Dr. Benjamin Lee. He could not tear himself away from the St.John team; old faithful.

This one is the real star, Eugenia swept the ladies' runs ; 1oom, 2oom, 1x400m and every run is a golden run.

I have met another real star; Julian Lee. How is it that I have never met him before on the field? Where was he last year? His dad told me that he recovered from an old injury; trained really hard and made great runs today ! All were golden runs !

So, quite naturally Eugenia is the sports woman of the year. Congratulations .

Oh yes! Julian is the sports man of the year. Well done and good job!

Like all dear fathers, he followed the son everywhere, took photos and stood by him all the way. Father and son relationship is steadfast and there is so much support and rapport. Julian, remember to love daddy as he loves you.

So another photo for the album. Julian and Eugenia ; great sports people.

But I am betting on this new star; an up and coming star for the next season... Ms Li Zi Xuen. She has the built; light and good shape for tracks.

She will be the next star after Eugenia and Eunice.

My hunch tells me so.

The day started with a threatening sky but ended bright and hot. Yellow House emerged the champion team. Congratulations and we meet again next year.

A tiring day and we are glad that it's a long weekend.

Another event out of the school calendar.

Water Babies

The crowd called them the "AQUA Brothers"...water.

Each time on a Monday Assembly when there are prizes and recognition in the swimming arena the two siblings are sure to be mentioned.

Chan Jie, only 16 has achieved much..he has earned gold medals in swimming competitions right from 2009 till today. Representing the state of Selangor, he has achieved medals for many races.

Elder brother, Chan Yang, 17 has even more feathers in his cap with the latest achievement in the National Swim last week; one of the feathers being a gold medal in the relay.

Not only are they national swimmers and bring much glory to their alma mater, they are also exemplary in their physical appearance, outlook and attitude. Both brothers did very well in Malaysian Public exams and are conscientious in the classroom.

It is indeed a pleasure to have them around and the school will surely miss these sons when they leave us in a couple of years. A special mention must be made for the parents that they have. They must be exemplary parents too giving them support in all manners and to make sure their sons enjoy the best of sports and instilling the right discipline and attitudes in them.

Kudos indeed to the father and mother of the brothers.

The school is proud to be assocaited with the boys.

The Lestari Run

It's themed the Lestari Run in tandem with the school's cry to be earth friendly.

En Zuraimi urged me to look at the morning moon ; a promise of a good bright day.

As usual, they are ready to serve.

Wai Hou of 2003? Once trained under the St. John's Ambulance team is always back on this occasion to serve his alma mater. The Principal was delighted and noticed his presence ever grateful for a past student's contribution to the school. She asked if he could come back to give a talk on male nursing and expose the students to this line of career. He said he would.

Thank you.

What's the crowd's favourite colour? It's a big turn out; one of the best ever.

What's the favourite colour of the teachers?

In what hues are the men of the school adorned?

Did you see us ? The administrators with the PIBG of the school? And what is the common colour?

Yes, the leader of the pack in GREEN...the Lestari colour !

So a pre run exercise session...stretch, stretch, stretch.

Reach for the lowest...

To your left, to your right...

Dont be lazy...do it, do it,. You are being watched !

Yes, they could not wait...pretty maids all dressed in green; they green the earth.

Young energetic ones all too eager to start the race...

Ready ? Go... you nearly surely topple the old ones...take it easy.

Who are going to get the medals? The first fifteen only... run for your life. I supposed it's just not the run; much can be learnt even through a simple exercise as this. Perserverance, honest competition, and team spirit. Where else can you learn?

The medals all ready to be distributed to the winners and to be witnessed by the crowd.

We witnessed a strange scenario this day. While being seated, there appeared a cloudy sky that provided shade for some good moments enabling the students to witness the prize-giving ceremony with less heat. A favour from the above.

Yes, the first winner of the day... holder of No. 3963; san kau lou san; the Chinese surely love these digits.

She is as petite as the Principal...Ms NorAliah of 1 Hormat. Small and swift ; an easy winner for the P3 group.

Who holds the triump card for the P2 ladies? Priyanka Kimberly of 3 Hormat ! Looks like if you wanna be a winner enrol youself in a Hormat class.

Kimberly receiving her well-deserved medal.

These are fierce competitors. They will fight tooth for tooth but all in good sporting spirit and the winner is...

Yes; Eunise with Eugenia trailing 2 steps behind at the last ditch...but they are still friends.

Eunise of P1 group being congratulated for a good run.

Looking so forlorn? tired? But you are the winner of the L3 group.

Izham Halid ; the winner of the young boys' team.

I am the winner, Puan Chong. Please I am the rightful winner. Yes, I know. You are the winner. There was a slight confusion over the first palce but all's solved in good time.

Walking tall, the winner of L2 group ; Mr. Edwin.

Oh he's only a winner but not THE Winner. Nevertheless, still a winner (7th place?). Congratulations to the headboy.

Look up here ! Say cheese... Beautiful set of teeth. Did you have braces on before? The dark horse again...

Amirul is the champion of the L1 group. He will be the guy to look for in the next sports season.

The overall winning team results.... you are no.3; blue house.

The green flag is flying high; no.2.

The proud teacher of the team MS Tey told me earlier that Yellow house is the champion of the year ! Congratulations...marks added for the annual sports.

It was day of fun and healthy run. Thank you children for positive participation and cooperating with the school's call to go green. You were really green and good. Rest well for the weekend and be ready for the next run...

Your tests start next Monday.

Run it well.
