Bed And Breakfast

Have you been to one?
A B and B ?
You get to rest for the night and then they serve you breakfast... continental !
Some previous trips to Europe and Australia have caused beautiful memories to linger for a long while after the visits and at every opportunity we look for them again .
This trip saw us resting in some and this one is particularly English.

At Middleton Cheney, a stop just after Oxford, Sara diligently made the booking and it was an experience that brought us back to Victorian times and feelings.

As you approach the front of Lexton House, you are greeted with a wall of maple leaves; so pretty and natural.

The Victorian look way back to King Henry's time, maybe; had attics that promised beautiful aerial views of landscape and greenery.

I had the privilege of staying at the attic and it gave me a panoramic bird's eye view of the county.

A foray of beautiful ancient houses so English stood in front of me as I peeked out of the window. But the feeling is just indescribable. I wish I am there now again.

Sleeping at the attic, I noticed traces of refurbishment and added work to support the old building; many hundreds of years old. Solid wood all hard and sturdy gave the place a rustic feeling.

Other parts of the house have been tastefully renovated; new carpets and paint work add warmth and coziness.

The lady of the house is also very hospitable and warm telling Esther and Sara stories related to family, work and fun. The girls took to her immediately. She prepared a sumptuous continental breakfast fit for a king ! Totally enjoyable.

The kitchen is big and spacious giving her guests ample place for movement and fun. We enjoyed the peaceful rest, sharings and delicious meal.

Lexton House will be etched in our memories and I wonder at any possible opportunity to see her again; B n B is a good experience.

But the best of all was to have the girls with us.
I don't seem to have enough of them.
