No. 2 : Ma, my friend gave me a copy of my favourite Zee's cd. Ma, she told me I'm one of the first to have. Ma, listen, ma, listen.

So, dutifully on the way to Muar yesterday with No.3 as the reluctant company, the cd was played over and over again as the daughter would not tolerate anything Chinese. Quite naturally, my favourite pick is none other than:

So I drove my car to Damansara. Tommy kata maybe you tengok bola. Tapi bila I sampai, you, you tak ada. Lagilah I jadi gila.

So I called & called sampai you answer. You kata sorry sayang, I tak dengar. My phone was on silent. I was at the gym. Tapi later belakang suara perempuan lain.

Sudahlah sayang I don't believe you. Your words were never true. Why am I with you? I pun tak tahu.

No wonder my friends pun tak suka you. So I guess that's the end of our story. Akhir kata she accepted his apology. Tapi last, last kita dapat tahu she was cheating too with her ex-boyfriend's best friend, Tommy... Kantoi.

Ma : No. 3, what do you think of the song?

No.3 : Quite nice la

Ma : Why do you think it is appealing to the public?

No. 3 : It is colloquial and pertaining to the local scene. Also, the lyrics are applicable to young couples, so I guess it works with us.

I thought it is good cos the sosiolinguistics behind it are so appropriate for the Malaysian listeners but was just wondering how the Americans are going to understand. But I suppose they will have a way of finding the meaning. Asked No. 3 if many are going to follow suit and she said many have flooded the market with this genre.

Well, all in all , I enjoyed the lagu dan telah dengar lebih kurang 20 kali all the way to and from Muar.

I will rename the lagu : Tom and Jerry
