SEMOA

For the original people of Semenanjung Malaysia

SEMOA, an organisation to look into the plight and needs of the Orang Asli of Semenanjung Malaysia staged a charity dinner in Mid July last at the Chinese Chamber Hall in Kuala Lumpur.

The Melia Hotel of Kuala Lumpur took the honour of sponsoring the tables and all collections done on the evening went into the coffers of SEMOA (Strategic Education Methods & Ongoing Advancement)

SEMOA has great plans to develop schools to educate the younger generation and to make sure all possible facilities reach the gates of the educational institutions built at the vicinity of local Orang Asli communities. It was touching to hear young voices echoing their desires to be professionals one day but only to become possible with the help of generous ones.

Francesca Peter made a guest appearance and though she's out of the limelight, her sharp, clear voice caught our hearts when she belted the evergreen "Tropicana". She did not sound any older; still so catchy and witty.

The emcee of the evening was splendid in his task ; he sold articles of famous posters and in his hands is also a bamboo device used by the Orang Asli for hunting purposes which he encouraged to pick up and finally sold at RM350.00. It was a purposeful and meaningful evening to increase funds for SEMOA.

Every guest was given a small picture of the local children and if generous donors wish to commit financial assistance , they can do so by contacting SEMOA.

You can also be a donor.
