God On The Mountain

For Encouragement

An old friend of the 70's sent this clip to me a couple of days ago when we recalled the plight of a mutual dear friend who is going through some most trying moments in life. We are baffled and encouraged by her show of strength and her adamant stand for the purpose of God in her life.

To qoute this brave mama : " Poh, when I went through the book of Job, I am grateful that I have some children with me still. God is so good. He kept some for me. The purpose of God must come first. "

Later she told me though victimised she would not put the guilty party through court proceedings because the love of Christ must reach him. The purpose of God must come first.

Why can't the 'less good people go first?" ; she is often questioned by her children. She reiterated that the impact of the loss must be so great that many be given a chance to be introduced to the plan of salvation. The purpose of God must come first.

For this brave mama who has understood the plan of salvation in totality , we can only say thank you for living out the Word before our eyes. By her encouragement we learn to be still before God.

Luke 11:35 reveals the person of God in a most compassionate picture :

Jesus Wept

Only 2 words but they say a thousand ones ; that He understands and is weeping together at times like this; that she is not alone.

For this dear friend, we have yet to see the Greater One at work in the days to come.

We love you.
