...your application is now ready for collection, please go to the same centre...

At first glance, really one would assume the the papers are in order and that the visa is ready for collection. Had a good friday evening last when the notification was given to Sara.

But...

Ma, my friends who got rejected had the same notification. Why is it that my friends who applied on the same day have not been informed? Ma... is it a rejection? Have I been notified earlier because there is something amiss? Ma...


Oh please ask your friends again if when they were rejected were they given other reminders of the rejection?... It went on and on as doubts overruled.


Sister Lee : Why over read? Sara just go on Monday and the visa is ready for collection.

Papa Lau : There's nothing to understand from the statement. Visa is ready.

Grace : Pa, let's watch the box and laugh at them !

Esther : Hahahaha... ma. It's so like you ; don't over guess...

Sara : Ma, why ? why? why? why are you not like other mothers who knew about the money tingee? Why do you have to include the Auzzie money? Why? If they reject me on that account how?


Mama doesn't know; only to pray and trust.

It's Monday morning and we are at the centre for collection now.

Student to security guard at the door : But... it's been a month since I applied and I have not been notified about the status of my visa . My flight is on this Sunday !

To say that I was all the time calm was not too true; not with this kind of scenario while waiting for Sara at the centre.

However, thank God. We over read. Visa ready for departure.

Lesson to be learnt :

Interpret the Language at its face value.

No need for further interpretations.

Downstairs... Sara is baking swiss rolls now.
