All the schools we visited had unique ownership features and strong identities. It was indeed an eye opener as we scour through the grounds while being briefed by eager and helpful administrators of the schools.
Staying at the Girls' Brigade Quarters was also a first experience where we were given gracious hospitality including teo chew porridge for breakfast and fish and chips dinner treat from Dr. Low and Mrs. Ding Seok Lin. All these gestures done in the love of Christ. Thank you dear friends.
But of course during such rendezvous you are bound to bump into old comrades known since varsity days and we were soon asking...."how many kids you have....what are they doing....are you already a grandma..." You name it.
And as though meeting old friends was not enough , the quarters were nostalgically surrounded by banners that say the following:
Immediately I texted her. She did not respond. She must be thinking I was joking. No; child, see for yourself. Even on a so-called holiday trip you have to appear somewhere.
Anyway, I hope to share in greater detail about the fascinating visit next change.
