We Have Seized The Day !

...And What A Day!

To win round after round and chasing after the coveted placing is an accomplishment and feat worth days of celebration. Yes, the Seafieldians have made it again! We sure have the gift of the gab especially when that live wire is in the midst.
A total of 40 schools around the Klang valley, Perak and Negeri Sembilan participated in the Taylor's 15th Annual Debate Competition yesterday. SMK Seafield (Affirmative) challenged the team from SMK SS17 (Negative) and fought a good fight.
Well, it is simple analogy to say that both teams were good (otherwise they won't be there) but in every battle one must win and the other, the loser.
"Globalisation Is Widening The Gap Between The Rich And The Poor"

Seafield won on the motion because
  • they affirmed right from the beginning that the gap is widening
  • all three speakers did not deviate instead; complemented one another
  • had good research factors
  • equally 'gungho'

Audrey strongly felt that MNCs are elevating the rich and said that globalisation has 'lifted the yachts and sunk the row boats'. Jasmine ever so witty, sharp, and fiery retorted that though globalisation has helped the poor to be better off, the rich are getting far, far, far better off. Hello, we are talking about the GAP...the GAP! The consistent and reliable Tze Quan quoting
researchers replied in a most eloquent manner convincing the adjudicators that ...
'we have indeed seized the day!'

At the announcement that SMK SS17 was the 1st runner up, the thunderous clapping of the supporters sent the message that we have successfully brought home RM10k , a challenge trophy and a full pre-University scholarship offer for all the debaters !
Commendable

But behind the scene, there were the guiding angels ...dedicated and committed teachers and...prayers... before, during and after the show.

Dedicated teachers without which the show could not go on
Prayers

" The horse is made ready for the day of battle,
but victory rests with the Lord "
Proverbs 21:31

To God Be The Glory

There is no record of Seafield winning this trophy .
This is the First Ever Victory. Well done. We want more in the future.

Its great to see how you guys take your victory to the Lord because truly without him, neither of our teams would have ever reached so far.

Thanks for the great debate, we really had fun. I for one sincerely hope you guys go far in Wira next year, show that anything is possible through Christ who strengthens us, and congrats once again =)

Hi, you must be one of the speakers? In Christ we are one. Thanks for encouragement and we have much to learn from your humility.
