Fire !

Tools for modern technology !

But I think this year should be rightfully themed "Fire" as much has to do with the lighter !

Why so much emphasis on "fire"? The students like to experiment with the flame ; the chief reiterated.

Eager minds and eyes ready to absorb ...

But the lady in pink is the most enthusiastic of them all ... a lighter in her hand! No wonder.

There ; the opening act. The President poured concentrated sulphuric acid into potassium chlorate and sugar and to the delight of the audience, lava- like out-pourings grace the ceremony. Hei, don't try it at home ; uncalled for danger...only a tool in times of despair.

See what I mean ? Another display of coloured flames this time. The form sixes sure love to play with fire...reminds me of American idol's Didi Benami's rendition in the last episode.

Pouring boric acid for the desired coloured flame ....

Green colour.

If you add strontium chloride it will be red ; purple if potassium chloride...

Now they tell me that the colours will not dissolve in oil but when floating on top of water, the colour will disperse and produce a myriad of hues ! A sight to behold...they call it fireworks in a glass ; appropriately termed.

The magical lava lamp...colours again. What's the use? The chief cheekily replied : O...nothing; to whet the children's appetite again on how they can experiment it to delight parents' hearts? To feed inquisitive minds so that someday they may just discover tools that may be of commercial value. Ah, why not eh?

Peeping into the lava flame ; are two favourites of the school ; name them.

How does one get the flame-like feature going? Add ENO to sodium bicarbonate and citric acid and the carbon dioxide produced will form bubbles floating upwards...colours are of your personal taste.

Maybe on some casual evenings, you can entertain guests for a slot of magic lava lamp show ! They might just call you the clever one...tools for modern technology, ha!

Next, the power of generated electricity charges.

Do you see the strand of hair being pulled to the generator? When can you use this device? Think. I am not going to suggest...use it wisely.

Flames are created when the generator moves ...

Perhaps, this little experiment can be tried at home. To see what's inside the egg.

Pour vinegar into a small container.

Soak eggs...all sorts ; chicken, duck, egg, ostrich, dinosaur....

The vinegar will react on the shell and soon; they become translucent.

See. Translucency to check it out! Rotten or not ? What about the sex?

Of course, the exhibition is made possible only with the jargons above...dear hardworking, long suffering, conscientious die-hards for you.

When Sara saw this; she cynically said : Ah...the beauty of Maths? Ma???

Ask Puan Chuah ; she has the answers.

The bevy of Biology beauties...Daisy O Daisy and Shantakumari...

The form sixes painfully collect them for their co curricular portfolios.

The humorous one below added colour to the exhibition. Come see through the telescope and discover sights to behold ! I peeped into the lenses and saw... nothing. Puan Loy, did you see anything?

Diffraction, diffraction, diffraction...myriads of rainbow hues created artificially and also naturally !

Man-made diffraction...

Natural diffraction...pretty rainbows.

The Human Anatomy

How many bones are there in the adult body? 206, 256,306?

Look at the courageous one ; as brave as the lion...he threw the question at the Principal ; a Biology optionist.

Hei, you were not even born when I became a teacher ! Don't question me. Yes, Maam.

But of course, this chieftain can only smile and shook her head...Avinash, Avinash.

The English says " Know your position !

A most imformative time for the children. Thank you dear teachers.
