Maundy Thursday

Thanksgiving
Maundy Thursday in Ritz Carlton was a night in remembrance of God's goodness.

...when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery...Deutro 8 : 13,14.
The boss of Ritz Carlton has been blessed but he did not forget the Giver. So he gave and gave and gave... 11 churches in number received gifts of love last in a gathering of God's people on this Maundy Thursday evening.

Churches were blessed once agan in this annual event marked for the purpose of honouring God.

In the banquet hall, many sang with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving as recounts of God's goodness, faithfulfulness and provisions flooded the minds of worshippers ; young and old alike. Last year, a more matured group led in the worship but this year a refreshing change took place when the younger group took control of the pulpit and led grandpas, grandmas, aunties and uncles to a climax of God's glory.
...How great is our God
Sing with me
How great is our God ...

Tan Sri Yeoh unashamedly proclaimed the folly of dishonest scales and weights and the manipulation of worldly financing and gains by 'fiddlers who ended being fiddled by themselves'. He reiterated that we were near the banks of financial collapse not long ago and that all our hard-earned money would have turned to nought if not for interventions ; a consequence of fiddlings. We are to remember to not be greedy for money but eager to serve and not to lord over those entrusted to us but to be examples to the flock. 1Pet 5:2-3.
But what caught my attention was his deep concern for young people and he proudly announced the next generation of 27 in the family having come to a true relationship with the creator. Obviously, he was proud to be the parent of his sons and daughter and lamented about the day when they have to leave him for building homes of their own. I felt the strong family ties and like all earthly fathers, he is always wanting to be in their presence and longing for them in their absence.
"Do not be unequally yoked" was his reminder to his children ; to choose life partners who are in the Lord for when God is in the centre of their relationship ; things work out better. He warned of how we can give in to moral decadence in the name of tolerance but condemned on how slowly but surely we may be led to believe that which is not right can be acceptable at one point ; compromise... and reminded that what is not of God is of the devil.

It was an evening of revelation as I saw how a 'big' man can be so humble and choose to be a small man in the presence of his creator. He stressed on the need to be intimate and have a personal walk with the creator ; Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations...Deutro 7 :9. He definitely wants a godly legacy passed down to a thousand generations.

It was a meaningful evening as we approached Good Friday the next day.
