A New Experience

First Time Ever

A weekend trip to the idyllic island of Koh Samui ended in a pleasant surprise never experienced before in all our travels. Koh Samui tourism is aggressive as it is absolutely generous to her tourists. Imagine checking in to the departure hall with drinks and local goodies waiting in store for you...all for no cost.

Yes, you get a treat when you depart from Koh Samui Airport to your destinations. This is her last gesture to help you remember her by when you go home. You may just want to return for her hospitality.

As you enter the departure lounge, you are greeted with this signboard.

At this nook, they serve you cold and hot beverages including cappuccino and local sweets. Sweet; so that you will remember to come back for her.

Yes, drink any amount and to your heart's content.

Treat yourself a sweet to your heart's content too !

Harres is a seasoned traveller. He has covered almost the whole universe and yet he has never seen or experienced anything like this. He loves this local gesture.

While waiting to board, friends can get together for further gelling and conversation and the whole ethos is indeed attractive.

Some of my friends met new people and look at how intense they are over the conversation; all thanks to the pleasant atmosphere.

Jenny and I kept ranting over the pleasant experience and had a good try on the local goodies. It is indeed a good weekend away from the normal routine and tomorrow we return to the battle field. Yes, that's what Harres shared. After the idyll time, we go back to real challenges again.

A good stay despite the threat of an impending tropical cyclone tonight.

Thank God for a safe journey there and home.
