Wreck-ridden Evening
Last evening saw merciless winds and rains pounding the Klang Valley. Just when I thought what a pleasure it was to have dad in for an early dinner, the endless calls took our attention. Dad's friends and clients around Sungai Buluh and Saujana area near Terminal 3 rang frantically for help. We were informed that car porches and roofs collapsed along the paths of the strong winds and many blackouts occurred.Dad with his battalion rushed to an old friend's place in Sungai Buluh who kept dogs as pets and for business. Later I was told that the whole house had portions of roof ripped off and the family's 4 cars were dented when the porch collapsed. Mini hazards like this appear without forewarning and your world becomes upside down in a few moments...a real tsunami in one's life.
Dad reached home at 10pm and had a late dinner on his own. Later I saw him flat on the ground exhausted by the physical help rendered to his pal.
All along Persiaran Kewajipan in Subang Jaya also saw trees being torn down by the ferocious winds. My first instinct was the school. I called school to be told that it was still standing tall and in one piece. It was a great relief because standing on an altitude, it has often been slashed harshly by the powerful winds. This time it did not stand in the way of the mini tornado; a good fortune.
This is life. Just when you least expect things like this to happen, it happens. However, a greater attitude though is to find a resolution. Now, I see lightning and hear thunder drums in the distance. The skies are getting dark and the winds are moving at a different speed ; is there another surprise along the way? I hope not. May we have an eventless evening unharmed by any uncalled for tsunami.
Have a safe evening.

Do you remember when the school roof was blown away, sometime in 1994?
